Science publication,
produced by Center for Advanced Studies, Skopje, North Macedonia.
OAJ publishes high-quality, refereed scholarly articles on modern social
scienc.
All social science disciplines (anthropology, economics, history,
law, political science, and sociology) are represented, including
studies of international relations.
English
All submissions (general articles, survey articles, review essays, commentaries, reviews...ect.) must be submitted electronically per E-mail.
The
material submitted should be original, written for submission to
OAJ with
consideration given to the needs of OAJ
readers. It should take the form of a paper, a survey article,
commnetaries
or a review essay.
To
assist anyone thinking of submitting material OAJ
suggest the following approximate equivalents for maximum manuscript
length.
We
suggest the following as a rule of thumb:
Paper:
10,000 words
Survey article: 6,000 words
Review essay:
3,000 words
Reviews
and Commentaries:
1,500 words
Contributors
should remember that all word-lengths apply to the total length of
material submitted, including notes, tables, charts, and
bibliography.
OAJ publishes
original work in five broad categories:
general articles, survey, articles, original research papers, essay's, reviews, commentaries.
Ohrid Academic Journal publishes high-quality, refereed scholarly articles on modern social science. All social science disciplines (anthropology, economics, history, law, political science, and sociology) are represented, including studies of international relations.
If
the OAJ Senior Editorial Board and
Editorial Board deems
a submission to be worthy of consideration for publication, the
manuscript will be reviewed by two (2), external referees selected
by the Board.
OAJ maintains
a double-blind peer review system.
To ensure that your
submission is properly anonymized for double-blind peer review,
please implement the following:
- Anonymize
the text by removing your name from the top of the manuscript.
- If
you cite your work, use third person, ‘Hanson (2014) claimed ...
- Acknowledgments
and funding information, if relevant, should appear on a separate
title page with your name(s) and institutional affiliation(s).
Most
scholars will choose to read and download a paper based on
indications of the disciplinary (or interdisciplinary) topic,
research questions, and empirical/theoretical strengths of the
manuscript. Propose a concise title and a focused (and if
possible, lively) abstract of about 150-300 words that convey the
primary subject matter and key questions, as well as the
contributions to the field(s) of inquiry. Finally, list 4-5
relevant keywords under the abstract.
General
Considerations Only
English manuscripts will be considered, not to exceed 10,000 words
(including tables, figures, footnotes, illustrations and references);
Submissions
must be in an editable format (Word Text, Times New Roman Style,
font 12 for text and 14 for Title ) and must clearly identify the
overall word count
Include
an abstract of 150-300 words and a list of 4-5 keywords;
Tables
and figures must be editable and illustrations must be of sufficient
quality for digital reproduction.

Priority
is given to submissions that:
feature
original research findings and/or original theoretical and
conceptual contributions to the field;
clearly
identify and describe the methods and approach used in the research.
display
a focused command of the relevant academic literatures
both
native and non-native speakers of English are strongly encouraged to
have their manuscripts proofread and/or copyedited prior to
submission;
The journal follows Oxford HUMSOC style. Please refer to these requirements when preparing your manuscript after initial review.
Notes
should appear as footnotes at the bottom of each page;
- Tables,
figures and illustrations should be numbered consecutively
throughout the text and should appear at the end of the manuscript.
- Under
each item, the author should include a heading for the “Source”
and any additional “Notes”;
- The
author must obtain permission to quote from or reproduce copyright
material prior to the submission of the final manuscript and should
include proper acknowledgements in the manuscript.
It
is a condition of publication in the journal that authors grant an
exclusive license to the journal, published by Ohrid Academic
Journal. This ensures that requests from third parties to reproduce
articles are handled efficiently and consistently and will also allow
the article to be as widely disseminated as possible. In assigning
the license, authors may use their own material in other publications
provided that the journal is acknowledged as the original place of
publication, and Ohrid Academic Journal is notified in writing and
in advance.
Upon receipt of accepted manuscripts at Ohrid
Academic Journal authors will be invited to complete an online
copyright license to publish form. This system also allows you to
pay online or request an invoice for any Open Access charges that may
be applicable.
Please
note that by submitting an article for publication you confirm that
you are the corresponding/submitting author and that Ohrid Academic
Journal ("OAJ") may retain your email address for the
purpose of communicating with you about the article. You agree to
notify OAJ immediately if your details change. If your article is
accepted for publication OAJ will contact you using the email address
you have used in the registration process. Please note that OAJ does
not retain copies of rejected articles.
Ohrid
Academic Journal offers the option of publishing under either a
standard license or an open access license. Please note that some
funders require open access publication as a condition of funding. If
you are unsure whether you are required to publish open access,
please do clarify any such requirements with your funder or
institution, per e-mail to OAJ.
Should you wish to publish
your article open access, you should select your choice of open
access license,per e -mail to OAJ, after your article has been
accepted for publication. You will need to pay an open access charge
to publish under an open access license.
Where ethically feasible, OAJ strongly encourages authors to make all data and software code on which the conclusions of the paper rely available to readers. We suggest that data be presented in the main manuscript or additional supporting files, or deposited in a public repository whenever possible.
OAJ
requires that all publicly available datasets be fully referenced in
the reference list with an accession number or unique identifier such
as a digital object identifier (DOI).
Data
citations should include the minimum information recommended
by DataCite

at the beginning of the citation helps us to correctly identify and
tag the citation. This tag will be removed from the citation
published in the reference list.
